July 2007 - Tornados!
Just back from a Helicam job for TV3 down in Taranaki..they had five tornados come through causing some real damage. Considering the carnage, it's amazing that they...
...made it through with no life lost. It was amazing to follow the path of the tornados in from the coast, and to see how some areas were flattened completely while only a few metres away glasshouses would be unscathed. There were rows of pine trees that had been snapped like toothpicks. Had Tristram Clayton onboard as a reporter, good bloke. He should have won an Oscar, an Emmy, a BAFTA and a beer for his performance!
