August 2008 - Training to rig Cineflex cameras

Hi folks, have just returned from Melbourne where I've been learning how to rig a Cineflex V14 camera to a Jet Ranger. This is the same camera I used while shooting in South Africa last year, absolutely magic to work with. Warwick Field from Helifilms was...

...an excellent teacher, he made it all very easy to understand and shared a ton of knowledge that he has built up over many years of being a first call Aerial Cinematographer. Thanks heaps Warwick, hopefully we can work together soon.

The camera and systems are all housed in 17 flight cases, stored in a custom built trailer and ready to ship anywhere in the world at the drop of a hat. Helifilms own 4 of these systems, stationed at various locations around the world. They have filmed aerial sequences for everything you can imagine, from BMW commercials, to motion pictures such as Transformers, to BBC docos like Planet Earth. They are at the top of the aerial filming game and it's an honour to be involved with them. Thanks for having me in Melbourne, it was a blast. And thanks for reading =) Dan
